Start with a room-by-room list.
A whole-home repaint can mean very different things. For one home it is walls throughout. For another it includes ceilings, closet interiors, doors, baseboards and stair details. Mark each room and surface you want included, and note anything you want left alone.
Good Painting provides residential interior painting in Calgary and surrounding communities. For a larger repaint, send a floor plan if you have one, or photos that show how the rooms connect. Include the areas between rooms, where a colour change needs a clear stopping point.

Choose what stays before choosing what changes.
Floors, stone, cabinetry and furniture influence how a new wall colour feels. Take photos of those fixed finishes alongside your wall photos. If you are keeping the existing ceiling or trim colour, include that in your brief.
You do not have to use the same colour everywhere. The useful question is where each colour starts and stops, especially in open layouts, stairwells and connected landings.
Work around the people living there.
For an occupied home, discuss the rooms that need to remain usable and the order in which work could happen. Bedrooms, a home office and the route between floors may need different arrangements. Confirm who is responsible for moving large furniture and clearing small belongings.
For an empty home, share possession and move-in dates along with flooring, cleaning and delivery plans. An empty property still needs an agreed sequence and time before furniture is placed against fresh finishes.
Compare the complete scope.
Ask for the rooms, surfaces, preparation and exclusions to be clear. Discuss how additional work would be handled if something changes. Our quote comparison checklist helps you compare the same work across different estimates.
Before you book
Can we keep some rooms as they are?
Yes. Describe exactly which rooms and surfaces belong in your request. A whole-home plan can still leave selected spaces unchanged.
How long will a whole-home repaint take?
The schedule depends on the home, preparation, access and included surfaces. Share your preferred dates so we can discuss a schedule for your home.
