BEFORE YOU PAINT

A fresh coat before the moving boxes.

Work backwards from possession day, furniture deliveries and the date you need the home ready.

Start with the dates you cannot move.

Give the painter your confirmed possession date and planned move-in date. Include flooring work, cleaning, deliveries and other trades. Ask whether the requested painting scope fits the available window before committing to arrangements.

Good Painting serves Calgary and surrounding communities for residential interior painting. For a move-in enquiry, text the area, rooms and key dates to 587-804-9266.

Decide what is easier before furniture arrives.

Look at large connected walls, ceilings, stairways and rooms that will be difficult to clear later. List the surfaces you want completed before move-in separately from work that can wait. Include closet interiors if they belong in your plan.

Bring the finishes you are keeping into the colour conversation. Flooring, cabinetry, tile and fixed lighting can influence how a wall colour looks. View any samples in the home when access allows, and in more than one light condition.

Coordinate the handoffs.

  1. Confirm when access begins and who provides it.
  2. Agree on the rooms and surfaces in the painting scope.
  3. Discuss the order of painting, flooring and other work.
  4. Ask when deliveries and furniture placement can happen.
  5. Leave time to review the work before the rooms fill up.

A fixed move-in date does not guarantee painting availability.

Share it early. If the full project does not fit, discuss a smaller first stage rather than assuming the same scope can be compressed. Ask which work could be handled after the move and what access that would require.

For a condo or townhouse, include building access arrangements, parking and any management rules that affect contractor visits. Confirm those details with the building before booking other services around the job.

Work through the move-in details.
