Separate the wall colour from the woodwork decision.
A dining room with crown moulding and several doorways has many edges. Decide whether those details should contrast with the walls or share a colour. A deep wall with pale trim produces a different effect from carrying one shade over both.
Compare samples beside the table, floor and any built-in cabinetry that will remain. Look at the room with its evening lighting, particularly if that is when it is used. A colour chosen in daylight can feel much deeper after sunset.
| Surface | Scope detail to confirm |
|---|---|
| Walls | Preparation, full wall boundaries, colour and finish. |
| Crown and ceiling | Whether both are included, their current condition and working height. |
| Doors and casing | How many door leaves, which faces and how the surrounding frames are treated. |
| Panelling or built-ins | Material, existing coating and suitability for the proposed finish. |
A room-by-room plan can protect the routine.
For a home that will remain occupied, choose the sequence before moving furniture. A dining room, office and bedroom may each have different access constraints. Show us large pieces, artwork and anything that needs specialist handling.
Confirm who will move or remove those items. The painting scope should identify protection, access and cleanup without assuming every piece can be shifted during the work.

Use a written finish schedule.
For a multi-room repaint, record each room, the surface, colour and sheen in one list. Include the areas that stay unchanged. This is especially useful where two adjoining rooms use similar whites or where wall and trim colours match but the coatings differ.
Send Bel-Aire, your room list, photos and target dates to start the conversation. Tall ceilings, extensive woodwork and repairs need a tailored quote. Our starting packages cover defined wall-only scopes, so compare their conditions with the work you have in mind.
A few details before you decide
Can I get walls and woodwork priced separately?
Ask for those items to be separated in the scope. That lets you decide whether to do them together or stage the work.
Should every room use the same white?
It can simplify a connected home, but check the selected sample in each room. Light, flooring and existing finishes may justify a different shade in a separate space.
Can I include decorative moulding?
Send close and wide photos of it, along with any known coating details. The material, condition and access need to be assessed before the work is confirmed.
